Use the configuration on the allowances form to have your allowances automatically be applied when someone clocks in or out. The fields available are similar to the award fields, as well as some additional ones:
Applies For
- To allow an allowance to apply to any shift, choose all shifts. This makes sense in the majority of cases.
- Choose shifts longer than , and enter a number of hours, to apply allowances in cases of shifts of a particular length or more. If you have chosen to have the allowance apply to specific times, then this number of hours will need to be worked between those times for it to apply.
- Choose split shifts to apply this allowance to split shifts.
- Choose specific shifts to apply this allowance to particular shifts in a timesheet. You can then choose which shifts. For example, choose from shift 1 to shift 3 to apply the allowance to the first three shifts of the timesheet.
Allowance settings
The number of units to apply will be applied based on the following settings:
- Choose once per shift to apply the number of units once for each shift in a timesheet. For example, you could have all staff tagged casual get a “casual bonus” allowance once for each shift they work.
- Apply the allowance to each full hour worked to apply the number of units for each hour worked between certain times (or an entire shift). For example, you could apply an allowance for every hour worked between 10pm and midnight.
- If neither is ticked, the allowance will apply on a per minute basis , so the number of units to apply will be multiplied by the number of hours worked. For example, if you enter three units and a shift goes for four and a half hours, 13.5 units of this allowance will be automatically applied. This is the default setting.
