Especially when staff first begin clocking-in, you might see some strange things on timesheets.
One example of this might look like the timesheet below, you might think why is there a Start time of 9:50am and then Unpaid Break End at 10am:
If the staff member clocks-in twice, within 5 minutes, the system will just use the most recent as the start time. If it’s more than 5 minutes though, it will assume this is another clock-in and put it into the next relevant box. As staff clock back in after a break, this next clock-in would move to the Unpaid Break End box.
Sometimes it can be confusing to work out what the staff member has done, if you can you can go and speak with them to help them understand they haven’t done it correctly this may solve the case for you and help the employee learn, otherwise it’s just a case of fixing it up on the timesheet.
All you have to remember is, what do I want the Start, Break Times and End Times to be in the boxes to pay the staff member against and amend the times to reflect this.
In the example above, you could change the start time to 10am and then delete the time in the Unpaid Break End, as the 30 minute automated break is already taking care of the break.
You have full control over any of the times in the boxes, so just move, edit or delete times that don’t need to be there until you have a full shift to approve.
